The drill holes in the KG slab are in place and empty conduits have been pulled. So now it's just a matter of putting in the cables and the spots. But more on that later.... I just wanted to mention that the core drilling is really no joke. My husband hit metal in 8 out of a total of 10 holes and had to use a grinder... It was a heck of a job... Well, and measuring for the correct positioning is an art in itself. On the ground floor, we are already more experienced...

Well, as a low-cost option for inexpensive retrofit spotlights (or does anyone still install halogen these days?), that might be acceptable, but assuming you want to install a proper LED system with a separate driver, you will already encounter the first space problems – aside from the fact that, nominally, the installation space is probably too small to allow sufficient air circulation.

It may sound like a waste to some, but when it comes to a mid six-figure amount for the house, considering savings of maybe 500 EUR and then not having an optimal solution, I always find that ... well, questionable.

To each his own!!! For us, 500 euros is a lot of money.

That is entirely up to you - I just think the whole planning is already strange when, in a project of, say, 300,000 euros, it ultimately comes down to 500,- EUR. Don’t get me wrong, I also have to work for my money, and I don’t earn 500,- EUR in the blink of an eye either, but in relation to the overall effort that is nothing - especially since I’m not even sure that 500,- EUR can be saved with a manageable number of lamps - leaving the warranty issue aside.

No hard feelings

Edit: Of the 500,- EUR surcharge, you also have to fairly deduct the material costs for your DIY solution.
