So, the only things speaking in favor of the property are that it is located between our two workplaces, since we need to go in different directions, and that it is on a quiet side street, nothing more. The statement made by the seller yesterday, that we were doing too much research and that there are others who don’t because of their educational background, left a bad taste in our mouths. It sounds as if they are fully aware of the disadvantages and are just looking for a fool who will end up cleaning up the mess. Since they would also be our neighbors later, we did not like this statement at all. Awareness of environmental medicine is growing very rapidly and will certainly increase in the coming years. The limit values for such transformers are not lowered every year for no reason. Only with the increasing awareness of harmful effects do the prices for properties with transformers decrease (it would be 3 m away from the house wall). So if we buy now well above the value, the value of the property will not increase, but would fall. Meanwhile, uncontaminated properties would increase in value. We would be willing to take a contaminated property, but not at a completely exaggerated price.
