In my view, it is none of the seller's business exactly what financial resources precisely a prospective buyer has. Nothing.

On the other hand, the municipality is only interested in whether the applicant is able to cover the purchase price along with the construction – this was the case recently in Neuss-Büttgen. A bank statement is rather counterproductive in this context.
