Funding applications must be submitted before the start of the project. The start of the project is considered to be the conclusion of a der Ausführung-related delivery or service contract; this also applies to follow-up investments within the framework of existing contracting contracts, where the project of the follow-up investment only begins upon conclusion of the further delivery and service contracts of the contractor with third parties. Planning and consulting services may be provided before the application is submitted and do not in themselves constitute the start of the project. For applications regarding the eligible initial purchase of a building, the conclusion of the purchase contract is considered the start of the project. The date of receipt of the application by BAFA or KfW is decisive for the timing of the application submission.
