Hello everyone,

what lasts longer and looks beautiful for longer? Brick or white plaster?
We are not quite sure whether to choose brick or white plaster. Who has experience with this?

Thank you for your tips

Hello,

This question is often resolved by the amount of budget available. Otherwise, it is a Jehovah question.

Rhenish greetings

Hello,

my parents have yellow (coarser) clinker bricks on the house. The house was built in 1981 and still looks very nice. One street over, a house with white, smooth clinker bricks was built at the same time. The builders have since painted the white clinker because after a few years it simply didn't look very nice anymore.

I would love to build my house with clinker bricks, but in Bavaria that absolutely doesn't fit the local architectural style here.

Hello,
There are also other "pro-con" arguments besides that

best regards

Is a price. What pros and cons are there for it?

Same price???
I have received house offers with additional costs ranging from 7000 to 17000 (Klinker instead of plaster)
If you put aside the extra effort every 10 years for plaster (painting), then there’s still the time factor: certain klinkers go out of fashion, just think of the yellow klinker from the 70s... These houses are hard to sell. Then the cheap ones: all look (in my opinion) cheap.
Whoever wants something solid in the standard, is building to finally be finished, and does not have the highest facade demands, for them the surcharge for klinker is fair and reasonable.
I personally live in a white settlement, terraced houses plastered. Everything looks friendly, even in dull and overcast weather, and the walls shine.
In our northern region, it can look very bleak when the trees are not in leaf and all houses are faced with this dark dull red klinker....
