Hello everyone,

our shell construction is now standing. The kitchen installer now wants to take measurements.
There is no screed laid yet and plastering has not been done either ([Malervlies] will be applied).
My question is therefore:

When can the measurement be sensibly carried out?
Now already, or do we still have to wait?

Thanks to you and best regards

Zenjamino

I would personally have the measurements taken once the plaster is on the walls.

I think it depends on the planned kitchen. When we measured, it was still quite a shell condition. However, since we have an island and a tall cabinet row with panels on the sides, which will be adjusted on site during installation anyway, every centimeter wasn't crucial.

Our kitchen installer also wanted to measure only after the plaster is on the walls.

He didn’t care about the screed, since the meter mark is there...

The kitchen installer will have his routine. One does it early, the other later. It also depends on when you actually take care of the kitchen. Since a kitchen never fits exactly and a niche fits, and the plaster usually never leaves even gaps, you have to reckon with a construction tolerance in the RBM of about 10 cm, which is then covered. So no problem for professionals to coordinate the shell construction and the kitchen. However, if you put a thick natural stone wall on the plaster before installing the kitchen, you should inform them.

If it didn't matter by 10cm, you wouldn't have to bother with the whole stress of measuring, would you? Our kitchen installer also wanted to measure only after the plaster was done. Preferably even after the screed, but that wasn't possible timing-wise. For us, though, it was only relevant because we had the countertop run into the windows, so the height was important.
