KFW Baukindergeld rejection explanation unclear

I suspect more clearly: The approvers at the KfW feel fooled by you and your roommate-ex and therefore assume that one person in the household already owns property at the time of the application (namely half of the inhabited house), and acquired it in 2018. The constellation looks very contrived.

Yes. The KfW never knew anything about our relationship and I only moved here in October 2020. Maybe I need to ask a lawyer about this again. I am currently doing my trainee program and I could have really used the money. Thanks to everyone :)

The relationship actually does not matter either, don't hold on to it so tightly. The house has only one residential unit. Whoever lives in it forms a household. One of the household members holds property before the application.

I agree with all of you. It is still bitter for the individual who is a single parent and actually has a separate household. Thank you, I will try to put the topic behind me ;)

The crucial point is that the KfW says you cannot maintain two separate households in a single-family house because it is only one apartment. Just like a shared flat, where people live together in one apartment. After all, a shared flat is a flat COMMUNITY.
