that's why I went through a broker. He said every company has its risk profile. I didn't want any risk there

So €14 for 2 contracts? That's incredibly cheap, I can only achieve that with comparison calculators if I don't insure the entire amount, which by the way is already low compared to the figures repeatedly mentioned here in the forum, and then choose a model where the paid-out amount decreases over the term.

Best regards

One contract, both are insured. We also do not have a very high amount to insure now. Security over the entire loan term. The offer came through AachenMünchener. The brokerage was handled by our broker. We had also expected more in this regard.

We have mutually secured approximately 70% of the financing amount correspondingly decreasing. In the first instance, the surviving partner only has to repay 30% of the financing amount. This is usually possible without any problems. And in case of doubt, the family will probably help as well.

Nearly every 6-figure sum is initially good money in the event of death. If you receive €100,000 in the event of death, even if you cannot completely pay off the debts with it, you have enough time to come up with some kind of solution. With €100,000, you can cover a €1,000 installment for 8 years. Enough time to think about how to proceed. A higher amount is of course nicer, but also more expensive. And it is an insurance that you hope you will never need.

A good general guideline is certainly roughly 50% of the financing as the death benefit amount. That way, the deceased has made their "contribution" to the financing. (for the forum police: this does not apply to everyone, for example, it would not fit for a sole breadwinner)

That you can insure two people mutually with one policy I did not know either.

I asked our provider for a declining tariff for comparison. Unfortunately, he could not offer us that.

We are financing with the Sparkasse, the offer comes from the Provinzial which is closely linked to the Sparkasse, but the Provinzial mediates the tariff again, the actual provider behind it is the Allianz.
