Is solar thermal energy on a north-facing roof profitable?

our shell construction is already halfway done, and since our budget still "allows" a bit, I am considering a solar system on the roof. The problem, however, is that it is a single-pitched roof with a 16° roof pitch facing north. Additionally, we have a heat pump with underfloor heating in a Kfw70 single-family house. Is it even worth it then?

Same here with us. The solar system is mounted facing south. It looks shabby, but the first owner did it that way, probably to achieve KfW70 ...

How about a photovoltaic system, is a high self-consumption rate possible? Possibly financed inexpensively via the KfW. The feed-in tariff itself is quite low (hence the question about self-consumption - also with regard to your heat pump), but the prices for a photovoltaic system are also very low. In any case, we have decided on a photovoltaic system.

There probably won't be any benefit if you don't revolt.

But maybe there is a garage or an extension. For solar support, not photovoltaics, it could be enough for a single-family house in a good location.
