Why not!? Is there a specific reason for that? I will have no problem finding a new job afterwards. There are enough qualifications and the job market also provides the demand for it.

Yes, there is. Take Excel and make an annual expense list. Say rent versus living. Always consider factors like investing in renovation every 10 years, which you don’t have as a tenant. You won’t get anywhere with that. With renting, you will save more. Well, you have to judge living quality. But if I can go on vacation several times, it might balance out. I would save and possibly buy something age-appropriate when the children have left home.
