Is it absolutely necessary to install a fire door between the garage and the house?

I have built a garage directly attached to my house. The former side entrance door of the house has thus become the connecting door between the garage and the residential building. Do I now have to install a fire door or can I keep the normal wooden door?

Fire protection is indeed an important matter. But in this described case, I also see no necessity. A normal front door with good thermal values, that should be sufficient.

Hi, I think a door between the garage and the house is good. Especially when working in the garage, there are odors but also loud noises. Without this soundproofing, it would be unbearable. I advised my husband and a fire door was installed. You shouldn't just look at the money. Best regards
