Is insulation of the garage lintel necessary or not?

Hello people,

opinions differ greatly regarding the potentially necessary insulation of the lintel of the garage.

The freestanding garage is built with Bisotherm Hbl and is unheated and otherwise not insulated.

I assume that the lintel therefore does not need to be insulated either. Am I correct, or does it still need to be insulated?

I cannot think of any reason why it needs to be insulated.

That's exactly what I thought. Since nothing is heated or insulated, it wouldn't make any sense at all.

I believe the contractor who wanted to pitch this to me is either business-savvy or clueless.

Or he always does it that way, whether the garage is attached to the house or freestanding.
