Is backflow protection required in construction projects?

doing it right away is certainly cheaper than retrofitting.

when heavy rain comes, and water presses from above and below, the shaft is the first to be flooded and you remember, 5 years no inspection/cleaning done, because it's too tight and no one can get to it

And therefore it is better not to install a backflow prevention if you don’t have a basement? :rolleyes: Or what do you suggest?

with us, no basement with bungalow, finished floor height 20cm above finished ground level, stone edges around the house, all slopes lead away from the house and in heavy rain we watch how the water flows past/away. On the path, the inspection covers for wastewater, we only flood if it stands 1m around, then we open all doors. Then all neighbors with basements have already flooded
