Hello,

quick question: I want to install a doorbell button directly on the wall by the street. The doorbell will be connected to a 27V system. The doorbell button is mounted on the wall without weather protection (facing south, with no overhang).

Which IP protection class is required? Is IP44 sufficient, or should I go higher (e.g., IP67)?

Thanks for your help!

By definition, IP67 would then be required. However, you have low voltage without risk. Is there a picture of the doorbell button?

IP44 is a bet on an imminent short circuit. The first digit 6 stands for dust and contact protection, the second digit for tightness against moisture.

IP 44:

[*]protected against solid foreign objects > 1mm and against contact with a wire
    [*]protected against splashing water

IP 67:

    [*]dust tight, protected against contact
    [*]protected against powerful water jets
