Hello,

we will soon have to choose the interior doors and can probably decide between Jeld-Wen, Herholz, Prüm, Hörmann, among others.

We want simple white painted doors, possibly with a few "design" stripes, and have noticed that every manufacturer offers such a door.

Therefore, we are quite clueless about which manufacturer to choose. Visually and in terms of quality, they all seem to offer the same. Should we just pay attention to the price? Technical details such as sound insulation values, weight, etc. are hard to find online.

Only Jeld-Wen has the same door in different thicknesses (43mm and 39mm): Lombardo and Lucera. But you can't really get much more information if you now have to decide between the two.

Can you give any tips?

We have white Jeld-wen. Great doors. You can open and close them. They come with handles, standard. And non-squeaking hinges. And when closed, you can’t see through. So really, Jeld Wen is highest end in door construction.....

Sounds kind of like irony.

Tips:
- Pay attention to the type of door (rebated or not)
- Consider the surface you want (wood, painted, coated...)
- Check the interior of the door (hollow core, solid wood...)
- Look at the fittings (concealed or not, quality)
- Choose the lock
- Watch the budget
- Weight and soundproofing are secondary for me, as they are usually not noticeable in houses and apartments anyway

My last doors in the house: solid from the carpenter + white painted, flush closing with concealed fittings (some Dutch/Belgian manufacturer) and magnetic latch locks - price per door about €500 (2100 mm)
My current doors in my apartment: manufacturer SAP, white lacquer CPL hollow core, flush closing with concealed fittings from TECTUS and magnetic latch locks - price per door about €300 including stainless steel handle set (2000 mm)

That was irony, because the doors in the corresponding quality level are all the same. So, whichever one is offered to me at the lowest price, that will be it. That’s how I think.
