Small update:

Officially appointed expert of the renovation company was here on Friday. Measured the temperatures at the outer corners. These were around 12 degrees wall temperature each (outside 0 degrees; inside 21 degrees). So, a subsequent internal insulation is necessary.

Insulation will be done according to the offer with 3cm-thick climate boards. Cost for 1.8 sqm ceiling area and 21.5 sqm wall area Q2 finish (ready for wallpaper) 4,600 EUR incl. VAT.

In addition, the relocation of the wall heating including connections 3cm inward: estimated cost approx. 500 EUR incl. VAT.

and the wallpapering and painting of 55 sqm wall area as well as 18 sqm ceiling area presumably as own work.

It's quite annoying - especially since, from his perspective, it is a structural defect (probably no Styrofoam insulation or similar at the affected spots). Due to the construction year 1994, the construction company (by the way, a very reputable local company) cannot be held responsible.

Inspected and purchased back then in the summer. No stains or the like were present... C‘est la vie.

We are going to do it this way now and won't have any trouble later in the context of renting.

5 man-days (assuming 8 hours per day) and 3,000 € wage cost share results in a billed hourly rate of 75 € including VAT. They are charging themselves quite well for that...

Annoying, no question. But certainly the right way. Clearly, the hourly wage makes you gulp at first glance, but on the other hand, good people also want to earn good money. You will see in the end how many hours are on the sheet. If it is a fixed price, the company has probably factored in a certain risk rate in case there is an unpleasant surprise.

The worst thing is that the craftsmen who carry it out only get a fraction of it.
