IKEA Välgjord dishwasher, hose unsuitable

Hello dear ones,

Today I tried to connect the Välgjord dishwasher. Now, the drain hose is about 3 mm thicker at the end and does not fit properly onto the Ikea siphon. When I try to clamp it, the size difference to the Välgjord is so significant that the hose folds and water leaks there. Has anyone here already bought and installed one?

I am currently facing exactly the same problem. Could the hose also be attached with a clamp to the second horizontal connection of the Välgjord, or could it slip off due to the missing ribs?

I would just give it a try. If it doesn’t come loose with some wiggling and reasonably firm pulling, I wouldn’t know why it shouldn’t hold. Of course, be careful during the test not to damage anything on the hose. When using it, I would also check regularly whether anything has come loose due to moisture and heat. Asking the kitchen staff at your IKEA can’t hurt either.

I just remembered: The two connectors sticking out at the top have a thicker collar at the very top. According to the instructions, you cut off the collar with a knife. But you could also leave the collar on and make a hole from above (carefully drilling or something like that...). Then the hose and the clamp would have something of the right diameter to hold onto. I'll take a closer look at it. And thanks for your quick responses!
