Why don’t you just use the rail? It costs 15€. You can also mount several next to each other. That’s where the shelf is then hooked in.

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I also assembled my Besta TV bench - I will mount it on the wall during the course of next week.

I have a cable duct and the sockets as well as LAN ports at the height of the cable duct (I think about 30-40cm from the floor).

In other words: The TV stand has to be mounted on the wall exactly at this height so that these connections are covered.

Problem: The sockets / LAN ports, as well as the cable duct, are of course sitting quite "wildly" right behind the TV bench, thus behind the Pax back panel.

Has anyone had similar problems and can share how they solved this?

Maybe leave the back panel completely off so that the sockets jut into the inner space? Maybe just cut holes?

Problem: All sockets / LAN ports are then only in the middle compartment (a total of 3 compartments), so I would also have to drill a hole in each side panel on the inside so that I can lay the cables inside.

Maybe there are tips/tricks on how to best solve this.

Exactly. A jigsaw is enough, or just use a hole saw. In the living room, we were lucky and the back panel of the shelf was recessed about 1-2 cm towards the middle. So you had a clean finish at the top, but enough space behind for the cables. Unfortunately, it was not like that in the bedroom, and I simply drilled several holes in the side panel with the largest wood drill bit. In the end, I just placed the devices so that the thick power plug was not necessarily passed through the holes, but rather LAN cables and thinner cables, e.g., for AppleTV. If you drill the holes just above the shelf board, you won’t see any of it at all.
