Hello everyone,

during the installation of my Pax sliding doors, I unfortunately have the problem that step 37 does not work. It requires that the metal rail with the rubber lip be pushed into the recess of the front cabinet door, rotated about 45 degrees, and thus snap into the groove ("Click"). Only then should the screws be inserted.

In my case, however, even with enormous force, I am unable to push the metal rail into the groove so that it makes the "Click." Therefore, the rail remains crooked and I cannot screw in the screws...

Does anyone have experience with this or even a solution? I am desperate...

Thank you in advance and best regards!

Hello Ikea expert,

Unfortunately no, the post deals with the horizontal metal rail, rather at the beginning of the assembly. However, my problem is the 2nd last step at the end and a different metal rail...

Doesn't anyone else have an idea?

Regards

hello racer,
I should have taken a closer look.
I would 1. check if there are no shavings or other debris in the groove.
2. for example, measure the width of both parts with a strip of paper and see if the strip is not wider than the available space. sometimes parts are outside of tolerance. it would also be necessary to check if the groove is not compressed or simply too narrow for the thickness of the strip.
3. if the dimensions are okay, lay the strip into the groove along the entire length and only then press it in. helping hands may be needed here. if the pressure is not enough, a clamp could help press in the strip.

I assume the parts are not being attempted to be inserted in the wrong orientation.

Hello IKEA expert,

thank you for your help. You are right, I haven’t tried it the other way around yet

But it doesn’t help at all, I have already spoken with several colleagues, everyone agrees with me that the "pointer" is too big for the "groove". This is probably because the strip is painted (white) and therefore out of tolerance.

I will try again with the clamp, good idea. If not, then I will remove the paint on the "pointer", i.e. on the metal strip, and try it. If that doesn’t work either, then I’ll just install the damn strip at an angle, make some holes and it fits. It also won’t be that noticeable...

This is the first time I’ve had problems with IKEA, really a shame.

Regards

Hello,

I have the same problem at step 37 at the moment: the bar does not click in.

Were you able to solve the problem?
I would be very interested to know if there is a trick.
Thank you!
