Hello everyone!

I have a problem in my office/guest room: I have a wall that is 268 cm long where I would like to place a wardrobe (depth approx. 50-60 cm) around the corner, which on the perpendicular adjacent wall should continue only with a depth of about 35 cm.

If I now want to use the Pax system, unfortunately I would come to 273 cm with the corner frame and 2 m additional wardrobe.

The Metod kitchen seems more variable and usable in similar dimensions. I would possibly want to misuse it as a wardrobe. Has anyone done that by chance? I would simply screw corresponding variable clothes rails on the side.

That way I would have the possibility to use the corner element of the Metod kitchen. It would be great because the element would be 87.5 cm wide. Ergo: I could take three 60 cm Metod cabinets and place the 87.5 cm element next to them - et voilà: I would have 267.5 cm as wardrobe width.
If I then took the 2.40 m high metod cabinets, I could correctly stack the corner element 3 times on top of each other and would have the same height again, right?

Hello, basically you can also use METOD, but planning with 5 mm accuracy is unrealistic. Walls are usually not that even, and you can't open a door properly anymore if the cabinet is flush against the wall. Shallow cabinets with the front do not align flush at the METOD corner base cabinet. The corner base cabinet has no top panel but would align stacked with the tall cabinet on top.

Why don't you take the corner cabinet and a 175 wide PAX?

@Nörgli: I would then have 20cm of unused space

@Ikea-Expert: Thanks! In fact, the 268cm floor baseboard to floor baseboard. The baseboard itself is about 1cm deep each. That means I would have 2.5cm, not 0.5cm, planning margin. That should work out, right?
At least that’s how it went with my Faktum. I had 369.8cm at the wall. I planned a 370cm Faktum with cabinets, well knowing that the Faktum cabinets are all about 0.2cm narrower than the stated corpus width. A 60cm cabinet is for example 59.8cm wide, etc. So I had 7* 0.2 cm (= 1.4 cm) plus the baseboard tiles with about 0.5cm clearance, so I could even leave enough space on both sides so the drawers don’t rub against the wall. It was precise work back then.
