Ikea Mandal bed on industrial swivel casters?

Hi. I am planning to put a "self-supporting" bed with drawers on casters. Mandal seems suitable since the drawers are guided within the frame and it looks great, especially in pine. I know that the bed does not flex and that it is no longer offered by Ikea. I plan to get a high pocket spring mattress.

Questions:

Will the frame hold if I screw solid casters with brakes to the corner points and in the middle? 5 casters. Possibly even 2 more in the middle of the long side on the outside?

Since I am relatively indifferent whether it is 140 or 160 wide, is the 160cm riskier in terms of stability?

Anyone in the greater Berlin area wanting to get rid of their pine Mandal bed?

MANDAL is made of birch. With a sufficient number of rollers and support for both boards at the corners, I would have no concerns. If you notice that it gives way a bit under load, you just have to reinforce it.

In D anyway no longer, obviously not new in A. But used, yes. Birch with white elements and pine mostly with black. Beds less often made of pine, dressers and wardrobes can be found more frequently. Thanks for the assessment ☺

I have completely pushed the idea of the black drawers out of my mind. The white drawers are much nicer, not such a goth bed.

I'm also considering. I have tongue-and-groove floorboards... Birch would look odd. But you can offer the drawers for exchange :-)))

The furniture should not disappear into the floor. I think it is better if the floorboards and the furniture are not made from the same wood.
