Ikea Hemnes shoe cabinet screws do not fit

Hello!

I bought the Hemnes shoe cabinet (item number: 201.695.59) yesterday. Unfortunately, I’m stuck during assembly. The plastic storage compartments are supposed to be attached and screwed to the back of the doors. For this, 2x 6 screws are provided. Unfortunately, the screws do not fit into the pre-drilled holes. It’s as if they are a few millimeters too short. Has anyone had similar experiences or am I just missing something?

did you use the screws with round heads? There are also shorter screws with countersunk heads included, but these are needed for the slides.

I used the pan head screws as stated in the instructions. Regards

You can see that the screws are not too short. If they go in fully and just spin, the hole is too big or the screw is too thin.

"Your" screws look as if no hole or only a very small hole should be pre-drilled in the front. However, the holes are probably so large that you would need these screws here:



These are the ones that, according to the current Hemnes manual (available online), are intended for front attachment. Complain or order online through the spare parts service.
