These splitter/distributor boxes for over €100 are pure rip-offs. The electrician can replace the existing stove connection socket with a double-chamber connection socket like the Merten 521044. This is much cheaper. He might also want to replace the circuit breakers to fully comply with the [VDE regulations].

Ikea expert,

you are probably right. Of course, the devices can be connected in many ways. I did not deny that; I merely pointed out the warranty. 2 devices, 2 connections. Period. That simply means a stove outlet as well as a 16A fuse-protected outlet or a splitter. Ikea certainly will not write in the manual how NOT to do it. A customer should not tamper with the devices anyway, so the connection values are basically completely irrelevant to them. If the electrician connects everything correctly, there is no reason to worry.

That you make such specific statements is fine. You have really broad and specific knowledge, which is really great. BUT! In this case, I try to think in the interest of the company and the possibly complaining customer. Should they then go to customer service or the manufacturer and say: "... yes, but in the forum they said...?!"

Regards

Nayla

I have to agree with Nayla... Even if you are knowledgeable, IKEA expert, sometimes it's better not to explain everything to our users, because if something really goes wrong, I don't want to take the blame.

It will probably never happen, but if a user is so "stupid" and doesn't know what they're doing and does it wrong and it leads to a legal dispute and also the unusual case comes up that a statement from the internet goes to the judge... It is said to have happened before... That's why I'm cautious...

No hard feelings.

But that's why an electrician has to learn these things for 3 years. Otherwise, anyone could learn it in an evening course and we would no longer have apprenticeships... grin...

I basically agree with you completely and would also not explain how to connect the cables. However, a double-chamber junction box, when properly installed by the electrician, is nothing more than the expensively sold splitters and is also firmly mounted on the wall and does not lie somewhere on the floor. The double-chamber box offers two connections for two devices. Basically, I haven't written more than that.
