Hello,

does anyone know up to how many kg the IKEA Bjursta wall-mounted folding tables are loadable? I mean really only the Bjursta table itself, not related to the load capacity of the wall.

Thanks for your valuable experiences

Hi,

I have the NORBO in my kitchen and have already had 20kg on top of it without any problems. And I think the NORBO is not as stable as BJURSTA. I have also leaned on it, which must have been an even higher load. So you can definitely put quite a bit on it without having to be afraid (assuming proper wall mounting).

Hello!

Thank you very much, dear alsk1, that already helps me a lot!

Can you also tell me how deep the support is with the table unfolded, i.e., how far it protrudes forward? I estimate or rather fear that it could be about 7 cm, since the shelf surface is supposed to be 14.5 cm deep and in the assembly instructions it looks like about half of that. If so, I will have to rethink. A piece of the gas connection pipe is supposed to disappear under the table. It is about 5 cm away from the wall. I have also already tried to call Ikea, but I simply can’t get through. I also can’t go to a store to measure for the time being.

Unfortunately, I do not understand your question. What do you mean by how deep the support is? The support goes almost to the front edge of the tabletop, so much more than 7cm... It has to, otherwise the tabletop would be hanging in the air. I also do not understand your measurement of 14.5cm, what do you mean by that? The storage surface at Norbo is 79x59cm, so it covers the entire tabletop size.

Hi, I have now looked at the NORBO, it is completely different in design than the BJURSTA, now I understand that you don't know what I mean.

BJURSTA
Wall-mounted folding table, brown-black

I mean the vertical bar on the BJURSTA = the one that sits on the wall, not the one under the tabletop. I want to attach the stand to the wall behind a pipe, which should disappear because of it. Therefore, I need to know how much space the stand takes up. The pipe has a distance from the wall of 6 cm (not 5, I mistyped), meaning the stand may take up at most about 5.8 cm.

The shelf surface that remains horizontal when the table is folded is supposedly 14.5 cm deep. I don’t quite understand that either, since the measurements say regarding depth "at least 10 cm", so I would have guessed 10 cm.

Sorry, I can’t help you with that. But I still don’t understand exactly what you intend to do with the pipe.... How do you want to drill behind an existing pipe with 6cm of clearance to the wall? And how is that supposed to work at all? In my opinion, that’s not possible. You should probably abandon the idea and look for an alternative.
