Hello everyone,

I am totally frustrated. I spent half of Sunday assembling 2 drawers sized 60x40 with the push system. But the closing mechanism simply doesn't work. In the IKEA store, the closing system already didn't look very reliable. I'm not clumsy and thought it would be fine.

I found a comparison video on the internet:

I saw exactly the same problems in the IKEA store as well as now at my home.

Who else struggled with this and how did you solve it? The owner of the video managed to get it working somewhat by hammering. But that can't be the solution. I am considering mounting handles instead of the push system and using the "soft close" system.

Regards, Dennis

The rails are simply junk. Unfortunately, the Inreda full-extension slides are no longer available. They were of very good quality. Even used, I would prefer them over the current drawers.

Yes, I know this problem.... And the worst part of it all is that these drawer slides still have the thick "Made in Germany" print on them. I myself have 2 drawers with the push system in my TV wall and the lowboards. Back then, I also fiddled around for ages until it finally worked. And it still works to this day, fortunately. After hours of trial and error, I played around with the height adjustment of the drawer, and suddenly opening and closing worked perfectly. But basically, this push system is the worst junk. A shame, because in principle it’s a nice thing for a handleless design.

Much later, I bought a 180cm Besta carcass for the bedroom and also wanted to use the handleless system here, meaning drawers and glass doors without handles. Despite two exchanges and going back and forth, I couldn’t get the push system for the drawers into a functional state. Exactly the same crap as in the video shown here. I ultimately switched to self-closing slides and mounted handles. But even with the self-closing systems, there are problems. I also had to exchange a rail here because after a short time it stopped pulling the drawer in on one side or didn’t pull it in completely. It’s just the worst junk, a shame! I don’t understand why IKEA doesn’t improve this.
