Hi guys,

I have a question. I have had problems for ages with properly adjusting doors. It started with Billy and now continues with Besta.

My problem is as follows:
I understand the basic rules about which screw to adjust for which dimension.

My problem is that all doors on the side without the hinges are sagging. When I try to loosen the corresponding screw on the top hinge, the two parts of the hinge do not come closer together; instead, the "outer part" of the hinge floats freely in the air. Therefore, unscrewing has no effect because effectively the hinge remains in the same misalignment as if I had done nothing.
The problem is that I cannot screw oppositely from the bottom side, because otherwise the door would protrude on the side.
I don't know how to fix this and I am nearly at my wit's end. Does anyone have a tip on how I can manage this?

Hello, I do not understand "Wenn ich versuche, die entsprechende Schraube an dem oberen Scharnier zu lockern hängt, nähern sich die beiden Teile des Scharniers nicht an, sondern der "äußere Teil" des Scharniers schwebt frei in der Luft."

Sorry, it's a bit hard to describe.

The hinge actually consists of two parts:
One part that you screw onto the cabinet and the part that you screw onto the door.

Adjusting the doors (in 2 out of 3 cases) consists of changing the position of the two parts relative to each other:

If a door sags, you adjust the front screw, which controls the distance between the door part and the cabinet part.
If a door sticks out too far, you push the door part further onto the cabinet part and secure this setting with the rear screw.

So if I now unscrew the front screw, the distance between the door part of the hinge and the cabinet part becomes smaller.
This works without any problems on the lower hinge of the door as well.

But if I try to align the upper part of the hinge, the hinge only behaves as intended to a certain extent. When I unscrew the screw further, the upper hinge does not get tighter but stays in its position, which means the position of the door does not change either.

I hope this makes it a bit clearer. I will try to make a short video of the problem later to make it more understandable.

Yes, that is more understandable. Sounds like the nipple on the hinge arm is not inserted into the groove of the mounting plate in a hinge.

If you think that's it, I understand a little less here right now.

How could I solve the problem then?

Of course, I am not sure without having seen it.

Montageplatte = The part that you screw onto the cabinet.
Scharnierarm Topf = The part that you screw onto the door.

By Nippel I meant the other side of the adjustment screw. Take a close look at the Scharnierarm from behind.

I hope my previous explanation is now clearer.

Problem solution: Slide the Scharnierarm correctly onto the Montageplatte.
