Good evening!

In our previous house, we had the toilet "Ideal Standard Connect," specifically in the "rimless" version. Visually, I found and still find the model great. However, we sometimes had the problem that it splashed water when flushing. So you had to be meticulous about closing the lid before flushing, because otherwise water sometimes splashed onto the floor. It wasn’t a disaster, but now I’m wondering for the new house whether we should choose the same toilet again or pick a different one.

Is this issue due to the chosen model, or do all rimless toilets have this problem? Do you have recommendations for alternative models?

Our cheap part from Vigour doesn’t have that, nothing splashes over. But that is also their second cheapest part (Clivia), because I don’t like these modern toilets nowadays. Closing the lid before flushing is really annoying with today’s toilet seat lids with soft-close function, isn’t it?

My wife is convinced that you always have to close the lid beforehand, otherwise everything will splash out and the toilet will probably explode - or something like that.

We have a bowl from Globo. Nothing splashes out there. But the stuff is ridiculously expensive.

Duravit durastyle also without problems. But I also heard and read a lot about it back then...

Yeah, sure. You get used to it, but eventually you start pressing the lid down manually anyway because you don't feel like standing there that long.

About the splashing? It probably depends on the models after all.
There is also the toilet we had with "AquaBlade" technology. Does anyone have that installed? Does it really make sense or is it just marketing nonsense?

And then the toilet water always splashes nicely against the seat. It's disgusting. Or is that the built-in bidet function?
