I do not understand your statement here in context. What I meant was the following: The hedge growth with the tall thujas is on the north boundary of the affected neighbor, so he can possibly accept it without much impairment. After all, not much light comes from the north in our latitudes. For the OP, the cypress hedge would be on the south of his property, therefore my note to possibly keep an eye on the shadow casting here before too much impairment occurs. The planned house will probably not be affected at all because it will presumably be far enough away from the boundary, only the garden....especially in the south within acceptance, since the sun is highest there and above the hedge planting. In this case, the hedge would rather be in the shadow of the house ;)
