Hello dear forum,
our planning is slowly becoming concrete. A friend who is an architect took a look at our plot and came up with completely new, sensible ideas for us.
In advance: A residential house of 160-170 sqm plus basement is planned.
Room concept: Open space with pantry, master bedroom with dressing room and shower bath, 3 children's rooms, family bathroom, 2 offices. The utility room will move to the basement.
So far, there is only one child, so we don't need to have our offices in the basement yet. If more children come, these rooms might possibly move to the basement.
Until now, we also wanted to keep the option open of possibly making an apartment out of the basement, as long as a) we don't need the children's rooms upstairs yet and b) the children eventually leave the house.
Now we are asking ourselves:
How do we plan the basement?
The architect suggested relocating the entrance at ground level to the basement and then putting the master bedroom in the basement. Possibly also the option to have the apartment here. Difficulty: When the kids are small, we would have a lot of walking, especially at night.
The open space should definitely be on the ground floor, as our terrace will be accessible from the ground floor (I have attached a site plan).
What ideas do you have? How do your houses (basement, ground floor, attic) look? You are welcome to attach pictures - I am curious and have difficulty imagining the basement.
Thank you very much
