It always depends on the formwork - at my parents’ place from the 80s, those are also in-situ concrete ceilings and were only puttied - looks good.

Our stairs and landings are also cast on site - very smooth and only a bit rougher in the transition area. A little putty and everything’s perfect...

Ok, then maybe we should wait until the ceilings are finished and then decide how to proceed. Thank you for your tips :)

It decisively depends on the age of the formwork used. If it is still relatively new, it "can" be done with a little re-spackling. But the reality often looks like the entire ceiling has to be re-plastered. Now, plaster doesn’t cost the earth, but working overhead is still not much fun. The professional plasterers have machines for that; in a very short time, the ceilings look really good. So I would seriously consider this either way. Rhineland regards

I would also recommend either filling, sanding, and painting, or if it is too rough, having it plastered.

We had precast ceilings (filigree ceilings) and had them filled, then sanded and painted ourselves. A hell of a job, in hindsight I would probably have the ceiling plastered right away, that would have been faster.

In terms of price, it is roughly the same, for us about 15 EUR/m for plastering and about the same for filling + sanding by the painter.
