Hello. We have the feeling that the underfloor heating is running in one room of our new build. It’s not really hot in the room, but the air is like in winter when the heating is on in the room. The floor is also not as cold as the other rooms. Our ERR are not installed yet. So far only the thermostats themselves are installed but the covers for adjustment are still missing. Unfortunately, the electrician delivered the wrong ones here. I have already turned the controller to the left with a screwdriver. However, I could continue doing that endlessly. So I can't tell when I’m at zero. Turn a bit too far and I’m back at 6. There was a slight improvement regarding the room air, but the heating could still be running there. Surely I can tell at the distribution boxes whether and in which circuit there is movement, right? But how? The distribution caps are all set to automatic. If the heating is firing, it could actually be heating. I seem to remember that the ELCO customer service set the heating so that it heats from 18 degrees outside temperature. When I think about it, that’s pretty high for a new build, isn’t it? I shouldn’t feel 18 degrees outside for 1-2 days inside at all, or what do you think?

A picture of the distribution box probably says more than a thousand words. You should be able to see on the tubes whether there is a flow or not.

Regarding the temperature, it of course depends on how your heating curve is set and what type of heating it is (gas or heat pump).
If the heating curve for a heat pump at an outside temperature of 18° is set to a flow temperature of 20°-22°, then not much heat will be drawn, since the house is at least significantly warmer in summer.
The problem is rather if it drops below 10° at night in summer.
That’s why I turn off the heating circuit completely on the heating system in summer.

All right. I will take a look at the tubes. How does a flow appear visually? Is there any movement visible?

We have an air-water heat pump. I can only see the supply temperature for the underfloor heating through the settings in the menu, or can I check it somewhere else? I wanted to check that anyway. I could imagine that it is set a bit high. What supply temperature do you recommend?

Oh, and where can I see the heating curve setting?

Do you turn off the heating circuit in the settings, or do you close a valve?

Have you ever dealt with the user manual of your heat pump? That answers many questions.

Apparently, there was no instruction given.

Unfortunately, there was actually no briefing. The operating manual is available. However, I have not gotten around to it yet, as we are still busy with remaining work. I will definitely deal with the manual. For some points, I just want to ensure the quickest possible resolution.

The tubes have a small float inside. It indicates how much flow is currently present. However, this is of course only the current state. If the ERR, for example, is set to 2 and opens again an hour later, it can still heat. The ERR only knows the state on or off. The question is also whether the electronic controllers are even installed yet. That is why a picture of the heating circuit distributor would be useful.
