How to best approach a project when the existing house is the equity

With us, the flow of money was first, then the transfer of ownership upon handover. That was kind of strange. The clause about compensation for use & the time of handover was not in our case. I specifically asked about it; she said she had never heard of it. Well, it doesn't matter now, the thing is over with.

Well, it doesn't matter anyway, now the stuff is over and done with.

Otherwise I could have given you a clause from our contract about that :D :D :)

They certainly don't like to wait, but whoever finds their desired property at least accepts it!

That was actually exactly the case for us back then. The apartment was purchased in February 2019. We took over the apartment a year later in February 2020. It was notarized that the money would only be transferred upon handover of the apartment. A time window for the handover was fixed in writing.

Why did we gladly wait that year? This way we had plenty of time to calmly organize the furniture and craftsmen needed for the move. Since everything was very well organized by then, we had terminated our rental apartment accordingly.

I could imagine that the willingness to wait a year or longer for the dream property was greater 1-2 years ago given the market situation than it would be today.

I think it simply depends on the case. Is it urgent, is it the absolute dream house or just a house. What alternatives are being considered, after all, in a new building one can move in at best a year after purchasing the plot, usually later.

At the very beginning we viewed an apartment, the previous owner only wanted to move out after half a year. That would have been okay, but it did bother me a little somehow.
