Regarding the described vapor barrier, I am still wondering whether I need to seal it up the walls or if it is sufficient to simply lay it on the floor? Anyone have an idea?
Thank you! Really terrible, some say yes to raise something on the walls, others say no. The worst thing I have heard. No, do not insulate on the walls, because the moisture then gets into the walls and the new building can mold?!?!?!
The vapor barrier is only laid overlapping on the floor and sealed with adhesive tape, and it is only slightly pulled up on the wall and not fixed to the wall. This way, the floor is virtually in a "tray". The point is that the floor is protected from moisture from below. This is achieved sustainably by pulling the vapor barrier upwards on the sides.
