Unfortunately, we had no influence on that. We only realized they didn't exist when trouble arose. At that time, we still trusted the general contractor.

Benevolently, this unconventional penetration could be interpreted as a friendly reminder from the executing trades to also take a closer look at the other component connections of the vapor barrier/vapor retarder. A faulty pipe penetration can still be easily remedied, but how/why does the foil connection end on the wooden floor???

That would worry me much more when looking at the photo. To properly assess the construction, more information about the execution of the ceiling/walls etc. would need to be known. What is located under the wooden floor?

There is no entitlement to execution planning when building with a general contractor, let alone for free.

The fact that the barrier ends on the wooden floor and is glued there with an adhesive seam is completely okay and normal.

We have now come to the same conclusion, resulting in the entire drywall construction being dismantled and mostly disposed of, as very little remains intact, and the vapor barrier will subsequently be renewed. Because what is currently found there is absolute botch.

In my opinion, no, because the vapor barrier should have been continued into the floor below. The wrong tape was used, the vapor barrier was not glued to the masonry ........... And the function it was actually supposed to have is absolutely not given here.
