How soundproof are windows?

since moving in, there has been a lot of trouble with the windows in our house. They are aluminum windows, triple-glazed. I keep noticing how noisy it is. For example, this morning I woke up and heard the birds chirping. In itself not a big deal, but it amazes me considering the window was closed and there is no tree in front of it. Or I stand on the first floor at the window (closed) and hear the neighbors talking in the garden next door (terraced house, so not that far away) (they are not shouting). Is this normal and am I just expecting too much?

The windows are as soundproof as they were ordered. If nothing extra was ordered, then the lowest level so that you can hear everything.

So we also have windows without special soundproofing requirements, and through those I neither hear talking people nor birds. Maybe have them properly adjusted?

We have triple-pane plastic windows without additional soundproofing. You can hear large vehicles and mopeds, passing cars maybe just barely. I do not perceive birds or voices.

Well, it also depends on who the manufacturer is in each case. For one, the minimum standard is like this, for the other, like that.

It's like comparing cars now: "mine is faster" without knowing which car it actually is.

I also fear that the windows were not ordered to be particularly soundproof. Additionally, we know at least of one that is not properly adjusted. That is why we have been having trouble with the builder for almost 3 years now. The windows were custom-made by a metal construction company. Unfortunately, I cannot find anything about the quality in our documents. But it is good to know that it can be done differently for the next house.
