We have been using an acrylic tub with an insulating tub carrier for 2 years. The tub retains heat quite well and so far, with simple care by rinsing and occasional use of an acrylic care product, we have not seen any dulling.

The only drawback: You should never leave the new tub outside in freezing temperatures. Then it breaks.
That was our only careless damage. The craftsmen needed space in the house, placed the tub on the balcony, and forgot about it in the evening. The next morning (after a night with -5 degrees) the tub was lifted and broke. 8-((. The plumber and tiler shared the damage without further discussion.

Sorry, this argument doesn't convince me like that. Enamel absorbs heat faster, I agree, but that's because it draws more heat from the water than acrylic does. If the tub is then not insulated, it quickly releases the heat to the surroundings. If the tub is well insulated so that the tub heat is not released to the surrounding air, the steel could of course give back a bit more heat to the water when it cools down. Basically, it probably comes down to the casing/insulation anyway. Do you really want/have an enamel tub without an insulating jacket? Is that even still done?

Unfortunately, high-quality acrylic tubs are not cheaper. At least not the ones I have chosen. :-(

High-quality acrylic tubs can also be purchased abroad. Last year, the renovation in my bathroom was done by a team from Poland. The tub is also from a Polish manufacturer. The tub costs 250 euros ([corner bathtub, asymmetrical, 140x95 cm, 5mm solid-colored acrylic]). The quality is selected. Warmth depends 90% on the tub support.
