One must also seize opportunities. Savings books have never achieved much. At the latest since the low-interest phase, they have not been worthwhile. In recent years, for example, the stock market has offered many opportunities. I had just written about purchase prices. Anyone who bought Rheinmetall yesterday could sell today with 60% profit minus taxes. Unfortunately, I did not invest even more...

So it is useful to me, if it is not useful to you, then you do not have to be active in the thread, right?

We will have finished our financing when we are in our mid-50s. Parallel to the loan payment, we have a fairly high savings rate. If all goes well, we will have more assets than the loan amount in about 11 years.

For us, the goal is to no longer have to go to work from a certain day X, but rather to decide for ourselves whether we both work full-time, part-time, or not at all, or simply do whatever we feel like. For us, this is to some extent a dream of freedom and independence.

We also save a lot - but a tip from me (after a tragic event in the family, she left us far too early...) Don't forget to participate in active life until then (one must also allow oneself sometimes - not always - spending money is necessary for fun and joy in life) - the greatest wealth is worth nothing when you are old and sick.

Don't worry - we live very well and treat ourselves a lot too =) We now have a household income of 5,000 euros plus 8,000 euros in special payments p.a. - and that is enough for a nice life in the Bavarian countryside and two to three vacations per year.

2015 was the "sweep point." Low construction interest rates and low land and construction prices. After that, interest rates fell slightly but prices rose massively.

I also built in 2015, bought the land two years earlier. I plan to be finished with the loan by the end of my 30s, which I financed completely on my own. The same project would now cost more than twice as much. Berlin commuter belt with S-Bahn connection. Currently, only two high earners can still build/buy here. I no longer find the prices healthy. I could imagine that the bubble might burst at some point.
