This stretches over several weeks / months until all invoices have arrived. grunderwerbsteuer comes a few weeks after signing the contract with the notary.

However, it will certainly vary somewhat depending on the federal state, tax administration, and notary and may take shorter or longer.

This is how it looked for a purchase of mine in 2013:
Who? ---- When? ---- What?
Notary ---- 05.01.2013 ---- Purchase contract signing
Broker ---- 08.01.2013 ---- Broker fee
Notary ---- 14.01.2013 ---- Grundschuldbestellungsurkunde
Oberjustizkasse ---- 15.01.2013 ---- Entry of Erwerbsvormerkung
Oberjustizkasse ---- 22.01.2013 ---- Entry of Grundschuld, change of rank, Erwerbsvormerkung
Tax administration ---- 15.02.2013 ---- grunderwerbsteuer
Notary ---- 17.04.2013 ---- Completion, provision of correspondence for payment request
Oberjustizkasse ---- 19.04.2013 ---- Transfer of ownership, final documentation

It's really getting tight. This stupid Christmas season..... No matter how nice it is, Germany falls into a coma for 4 weeks. Is there any way to speed up the registration of the conveyance and the real estate transfer tax? Has anyone had good experiences with just going there and asking nicely. It would be such a shame if our construction start in April fails. Property purchase at the beginning of January.

Hello,

please inquire at your land registry office or the notary who notarized your mortgage. They know the regional timelines very precisely.

It is pointless to ask here based on experience and to be on tenterhooks.

Here she is asking about the duration, even though she hasn't even finished compiling the documents yet.

I'll claim: The train has left the station for this year.

There are only 9 banking days left until New Year's.
