How did you install your heat pumps?

We are getting an air heat pump. The electrician gave the concrete worker a drawing so that the latter could make a foundation. He did so. According to the drawing, he placed the recess for the supply line at the front left corner. Then the heat pump was delivered and provisionally placed on the foundation; see photo. The unit stood there for months. I then asked what would happen with the black part. The boss replied: "That will be inserted into the heat pump." By that time, he should have noticed that this wouldn’t work.

Now it has been connected. And what a surprise? It is not possible to place the heat pump centrally on the foundation because the recess is in the wrong place. And then the electrician installs this here; see photo. I am simply appalled and the chief electrician’s response was: "That was a communication problem. My employee installed the heat pump way too high. It will be placed lower, about 5 cm above the concrete. Then a frame will be put around it, and it will be filled with gravel so that you won’t see anything anymore." Am I being too demanding? It’s a miracle they were even able to anchor it with dowels so close to the edge. Will that hold permanently? The concrete worker is innocent. He worked according to the electrician’s drawing.

What can I demand now? Ideally, I would want them to redo the entire foundation properly. That means the electricians can’t do it themselves. They could commission the concrete worker; but I will not pay for that.

So you are currently losing sight of the essentials. It doesn't matter at all that the outdoor unit is not centered on the foundation. That is just cosmetics. What is not acceptable is the mounting on the left, it will not hold. Filling it with gravel does not solve the problem. The question is how far can the supply lines be "bent" so that the heat pump is moved 5-10cm to the right, because that is the leverage to re-screw the heat pump and not because you care about symmetry.

What an effort for a measly heat pump. And why isn’t it decoupled on such weird mounts.

My two HPs were set up like this:

Basically strip foundations. On top, Bigfoots for sound decoupling (the HPs are then screwed onto the rails – the feet stand freely and can be freely positioned to the right and left). The supply line comes from the back (not visible here yet). Later everything will be done nicely.

Exactly, I also don't believe that will hold permanently. And I've heard that the pipes can be bent as well.

When I see it like this, I should insist on the flow temperature for my preferred gas boiler with the general contractor [GU]...
