Ugly scratches have formed in the enamel layer of my bathtub. Is there a way to remove them? I am imagining something like car polish – but for the bathtub. Does something like this exist?
Hi KuK, you can remove the scratches with special repair kits from the hardware store. For this, you need to clean the surface carefully and fill the scratches with the [Ausgleichsmasse]. Then smooth it out and sand it after drying. You need a bit of a delicate touch, but with this method, I restored a nice old-fashioned bathtub.
There are special pens specifically for enamel bathtubs that do not wash off anymore. You just have to be careful when choosing the color, so it is best to take a color sample with you to select the exact color.
