House purchase or house construction, what price is realistic?

We currently live very centrally. However, the house does not necessarily have to be in Bremen. We actually like the metropolitan area around the city significantly better in some parts. That probably makes it easier. At the moment, however, we have the feeling that the market is really overheated. Houses are changing hands in less than a week.

Oh yes, the metropolitan area around the city is also quite expensive in terms of price at times.. Are you looking for an existing house or a plot of land?

Unfortunately, we have recently missed out on 2 interesting existing properties. Once we offered too little, once we were just unlucky. We find [Grundstück] better, as you often get larger plots, but it’s often a mixed bag. We also have some craftsmanship skills and are enthusiastic about it. However, if we don’t find anything decent, we are also open to building.

The question is whether you are building new / buying. A 100k difference can quickly disappear with renovation. Otherwise, I trust you can do it.

I would also initially refrain from making special repayments. If we are perhaps talking about a period of 2 years, you save just about 400€ on a 10k special repayment and 2 percent, I would rather have that liquid at first in case the sale of the apartment does not go as quickly or smoothly as planned.

What if the pretty girlfriend gets pregnant. It often happens and will certainly be a topic for the next few years.
