140 sqm is by no means too little for two people and possibly 1-2 children it is completely sufficient.

The area also has to be cleaned, heated in winter and possibly cooled in summer, and yes, creating the area is not free either.

You should agree on the children already - before the house planning, if and how many. It is no use if you have to extend or make major alterations in 10 years.

So more than two children are not planned :-)
We found 140 m2 to be sufficient now - on paper.
But of course, if the budget allows it in the end .. - that is a point we definitely have to think about - thanks for the hint here :-)

Go to model homes and just take a look at everything. From the glass palace to the 120 sqm little house.

Always draw furniture to scale. Check your distances. It's no use if you think the 60 cm between the edge of the bed and the wall is too little and you build with 50 because it looks good.

140 sqm is not spacious for 4 people by today's standards. It is still not a tiny cabin. Also consider the books. They have to go somewhere if the reading room becomes a children's room. Your second hobby- gamer- ironing room might also be done away with.

140 m² is far too small. It's very difficult to create nice rooms with that. Considering your exceptionally high income and possibilities, I would rather aim for around 250 m² and plan a budget of about 1 million euros for the house. Otherwise, you will have paid it off after 5 years anyway :D
