Hello everyone,

we are currently in the process of making the first considerations for our house construction. We already have the plot - pictures are attached - but we are unsure how best to place a house including a garage on it. By the way, the pictures are aligned exactly according to the cardinal directions.

We own No. 494/8 - the plot right next to it, 495/4, belongs to relatives (although it is quite unlikely that anything will be built there in the foreseeable future), and opposite is farmland.

The house design is still open, but we are currently leaning towards two full floors without a basement. There should also be space for a garage (or carport). If you place the house in the west, you block the afternoon sun in the garden. On the other hand, in the east you don’t want to block the morning sun with a garage, especially if it is then northeast or southeast, etc.

Possibly this is just a luxury problem, but I still find it difficult to imagine the entire plot with driveway/house/garage.

Do you have any tips/suggestions for us? We are open to all proposals and thank you in advance!

A placement without a floor plan is possible but pointless. And conversely, a floor plan without placement is also not sensible. You don’t want to have the garage standing 1 meter in front of your living room window ;) Therefore, plan both together. Also think about where you want to sit on the terrace. Basically, I also find short distances clever and as contiguous a garden as possible.

The street below is not asphalted at all? Is the plot flat or is there a slope? Tendentially, I would park in the northwest corner and then have the house with a west entrance next to it.

One more thought on that. You have quite a large property. It is certainly possible to provide several spaces. A terrace at the house for dining and a second spot somewhere on the property where you can comfortably unwind in the evening with a glass

Here are two suggestions. With access from the south.

perhaps move the house a little towards the west?
