Everyone has their own standards. I think these things don't go together: building an expensive single-family house and pushing the kids around in a 5 EUR buggy from the flea market... well, great!
Sorry, but I’ve rarely read such nonsense! Why shouldn’t those things go together?
The child doesn’t care at all whether the stroller cost 1000€ or was bought for 5€ at the flea market. That’s just the stupid thinking of the parents!
We have bought almost everything second-hand. We probably spend far below average on any gimmicks for our children. Nevertheless, they probably have a very fulfilling life in a huge garden to romp around in, with many barbecue parties, campfires, camping, planting and harvesting vegetables, etc. You can buy almost everything for children second-hand! We bought the entire nursery furniture, almost all the clothes, and most of the toys second-hand. Especially in the first years, these things are sold again after a few months to years anyway because they are no longer needed. E-bay Classifieds is simply great! We even bought the cloth diapers second-hand!
Because of that, I now only work 30 hours and can spend one more day a week with my kids. THAT I truly find priceless! Everyone sets their priorities differently. But all the expensive gimmicks are usually totally unnecessary. Anyone can buy them if they want. But whether that really benefits the child, I seriously doubt. Often it’s just showing off the parents....
