As can be read in my introduction, I have recently become the owner of a property with an old building from 1928. For various reasons, the old house unfortunately has to make way for a new building. Not only to save costs, but also for personal reasons, parts of the house may/should continue to live on.

Do you have any ideas/suggestions on where to "get rid of" or pass on what? Spontaneously, the double-glazed aluminum frame windows come to mind, or the brick of the wall. Doors and frames, which also date from the time of construction, would also be conceivable. The question now is: where to put them, how to find a recipient?

Maybe someone has already faced the same question?!

Where to? --> Store outside, tarp over it, or in your current apartment or house. How to find a buyer? --> Ebay Classifieds.

But honestly, is all the effort worth it? So how much money do you think you can make?

You could also photograph everything of value, post it online, and then people have time until the demolition starts.

Buschfunk and Ebay Classifieds
Anyone renovating their old gem likes to take doors, floorboards, etc.
Black electrical switches are collectibles
What I don't know is who is liable if one of the Sunday fortune seekers has an accident while removing their stuff or causes damage.
I only gave them to acquaintances.

but watch out for the "Flederer gifted is still too expensive" and "I'm very important because I save you money" comments coming too

I would check if there is a "Baustoff-Recycler" in your area. However, I wouldn't have high hopes for any "profits." At best, they dismantle it for free in the end, and you have a bit less work or possibly save on disposal costs.

Thanks in advance for the answers. That you won't make a quick profit from it anymore, I already assumed. Ultimately, I only hope for lower disposal costs. Since I wanted to do the demolition (mostly) myself and there is currently no binding schedule for the new construction, I am not under much time pressure.

Disposal is often cheaper than the time spent on all the fortune hunters.

Large pieces got away through word of mouth, like barn cladding, oak beams, or doors. The demolition contractor also took usable items. Disposal was waived.
It got so bad with us that I asked the neighbors not to give out my contact details anymore.

I don't let anyone search for things alone on a construction site that is partially gutted, with the roof truss uncovered. In the end, I might still get a lawyer's letter because some idiot stepped on a nail in flip-flops.
Why should I provide electricity if someone is allowed to take a piece of railing for free or use the tools?
