Hello
we want to build soon and will only have the shell constructed, we want to do the rest ourselves.
The insulation should come close to a passive house.
Since we do not want oil or gas, we have thought about heating in winter with a fireplace that has a water circuit inside.
Has anyone had experience with this? Did I understand correctly that it then heats the whole house, i.e. via pipes in the other rooms, and is additionally responsible for hot water?
In addition, we want to put solar panels on the roof, since we do not want to operate the fireplace in summer.
Does anyone have this technology, or combination, and can give me tips on whether it really gets warm and is sufficient this way?
Wood will never be a problem for us, we have a cheap supplier in the village and a buddy with forest who doesn’t know what to do with all the wood.
Then one more question: we are now planning the house without a basement. The solar stuff should be under the roof by the garage. Do you also need something for this fireplace combo? (Like an extra room for a water boiler or something)
Many thanks in advance
