Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding house connections.
We will soon start building a single-family house without a basement with a developer.

Now, according to the site manager, I am supposed to take care of the utility providers. I have now learned that individual institutions are responsible for gas (A), electricity (B), and water (C).

I have now seen that A also offers the multi-utility house connection. I am now getting an offer for this. I still need to get offers from B and C as well. B offers a "worry-free" package, meaning the line is laid without any own contribution.

Now to my question, how do I coordinate so that all of them lay their lines roughly at the same time (Telekom is also coming), without them having to keep opening and closing the supply trench?
Thank you very much and best regards
Ingo

Well, talk a lot on the phone and just leave the ditch open, after the last one it will be closed.

Thank you very much for your response. Can I, for example, tell the electricity provider with the package to please close the hole later?

I have had the closing removed from the offer. I will dig the trench myself.

The same thing is coming up for me now. I am supposed to coordinate the utility lines. We are also getting a multi-utility house connection. For the gas provider, at the moment only the desired calendar week can be offered. Then we also have electricity/water and telecom. Difficult to coordinate them. Who should ideally be last? Then I let them come 2 weeks later? Or is that also a problem again if there is such a big offset?

So, you forget about coordinating. Here academic process know-how meets German civil engineering, and civil engineering is in charge. Dig deep, throw far. The order, whether multi-utility connection or classic side by side. Water and gas first, they lie deepest, above them electricity, above that telephone. Theory. In practice, since gas, water, electricity, telecom come in the worst case from four companies, in the best case from three, you eventually come up on a list whose process you have zero influence on. And when it’s your turn, their subcontractor comes and digs the trench and lays their cable or pipe. And because they have zero interest in children or canaries falling in, they will immediately refill their trench. And if you’re clever enough to dig the trench yourself, you might experience that the electrician comes first, says, stupid, the trench is way too deep, my cable is hanging in the air, but I have to deliver it covered with earth, so he fills it up, lays the cable, and closes it. And then the builder can play Rumpelstiltskin, so what, he just calls Eon or whoever, says the builder is bitching, Eon says then piss off, do the next one. My advice for halfway reasonable coordination would be not to do it yourself. Leave electricity to the electrician, apply for gas and water through the plumber, sign their forms blank and trust that they know their people, and hope for the best. But no one gets around the telecom builder service. Karsten
