House connection costs realistic? Experiences

Yes, it actually depends on where you are building. There is no option to create the cable trench yourself here; that is done by the city utilities’ in-house excavator and only by them. The only exception was convincing Telekom to throw the cable into the existing trench... but it didn’t get any cheaper because of it :D

You find that out down to the euro exactly from your suppliers. No one here can tell you that. We had the same, but it doesn't help you if I now tell you that I paid between 3000 and 4000 euros. It can be completely different for you. For us, electricity had to be switched off, then construction power connected, then the electricity routed into the house. Water had to be switched off and then routed into the house. We already had sewage, we only had to connect it.

Why is the trench for the pipes not being done independently? That is sometimes the easiest way to really save a lot of money. I dug all the trenches myself with a rented mini excavator and saved thousands of euros in a few days. Are you not confident enough to do that?
