Regarding the windows:
For the purpose of saving heating costs, building envelopes are becoming increasingly better sealed. The weak point in windows is therefore the connection between the window frame and the masonry. Moisture (which cannot escape through controlled ventilation) can condense precisely at this point and cause certain damages. Therefore, the installation - as it was done until a few years ago - using only PU foam is not recommended. Additionally, on the room side, a vapor diffusion-tight seal should be made, or on the outside, the connection should be made diffusion-open and splash rain-tight (e.g., with soft cellular foam or a sealing tape). There are several possibilities for this (depending on the building situation).
However, this has less to do with double or triple glazed windows.
On this topic, you will hear various opinions; some swear by double glazing, others by triple glazing. I myself come from the window industry and would not install triple glazed windows for myself.
Apart from the advantage of better thermal insulation, there are simply too many disadvantages.
