Hello everyone,

we would like to have holes for spots in the [Filigrandecke]. Has anyone already had experience regarding whether the holes are placed correctly by the manufacturer? Or did you measure and drill them on site?

Thank you very much

Ours were made in the factory, with a cavity box. Since you also need the electrical connections in the ceiling, all of that must be completed before the concrete goes on. There’s no saving by retrofitting it yourself.

It's not about saving, but rather whether the factory works that precisely.. Our architect fears that the [Löschen] will not be where they should be in the end. But it sounds like everything worked out well for you.

With what tolerance do you expect on the construction site? I am sure that the company works more precisely than the crew of Slovak construction helpers that my general contractor called bricklayers. When it matters that the spots land exactly to the millimeter at a certain spot, the shell construction is certainly the wrong trade. But I wonder where the spots have to be exactly in the right place and cannot deviate by 1-2 cm.

They can deviate by 2 cm as long as they deviate by 2 cm in line and there are no zigzag patterns on the ceiling ;)

Not even the electrician will drill that precisely to the millimeter for you. And a displacement of 1 or 2 cm over several meters is not even noticeable. People tend to overestimate themselves there.

But I also wouldn't expect millimeter precision when laying the filigree ceilings. They are just placed, the gaps are foamed, and that's it.

Therefore, it still seems most sensible to me that the electrician drills the spots and sets the hollow wall boxes after the filigree ceiling has been laid.
That's where the least can go wrong...
